Why Have a PT?

You don't need to be fit to start personal training. You don't need to enjoy the gym. And you certainly don't need to know where to begin. That's exactly why having a personal trainer can make such a difference.

Why Women Choose Personal Training

There isn't one reason, and there isn't one kind of client. Your goal might be to feel more comfortable carrying shopping, keep up on a walk, or simply make a little time for yourself.

Perhaps you feel less strong or energetic than you used to. You want better general fitness, support with weight management, or more confidence in everyday movement, balance and mobility as you get older.

Perhaps you know exercise matters but find it difficult to maintain a routine. Previous programmes haven't lasted, a busy week takes over, or the gym feels intimidating rather than welcoming.

Or perhaps you want professional guidance rather than guessing which exercises to do. An appointment devoted to you can make getting started feel more manageable.

Why Personal Training Is Different

With Paula, the programme is built around your starting point and your life. The support is personal, not a generic routine you're left to work out alone.

Each session is tailored to your goals, experience and preferences rather than a standard gym programme.

Accountability

An agreed appointment can help you protect time for exercise and keep showing up.

Confidence

Paula demonstrates movements, explains technique and helps you progress at a comfortable pace.

Convenience

Training comes to your own home, without the extra journey to a gym.

Progression

Exercises can be adjusted as your strength, confidence and fitness develop.

Privacy

Train in familiar surroundings, without feeling watched or comparing yourself with other gym-goers.

You Don't Need to Be Fit to Begin

Being unsure where to start is a reason to ask for support, not a reason to put it off. Paula works with complete beginners and women returning after a long break, as well as those with more experience.

You don't need to keep up with anyone else. The starting point, pace and progression are built around you.

Why Women Over 40 Benefit From Strength Training

Maintaining muscle strength, mobility and balance matters through your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond. Sensible resistance training can support everyday movement and physical independence.

That could mean carrying shopping, climbing stairs, getting up from the floor, walking comfortably or feeling more confident staying active later in life. Progress varies, and training isn't a promise to prevent or cure a medical condition.

A routine that fits your life

Consistency Changes Everything

It's not about doing more once. It's about showing up regularly.

A single session can feel encouraging, but lasting habits take repeated opportunities to practise. A manageable programme helps you keep going without needing to change everything at once.

01

Once a Week

A Good Start

For complete beginners, one supported session each week can be a valuable first step. An agreed appointment makes exercise part of your week, while you learn movements at a comfortable pace.

02

Twice a Week

Build Momentum

Two sessions each week can help turn good intentions into a dependable routine. Paula often suggests this frequency where appropriate, with time between sessions to recover and put new skills into practice.

03

Three Times a Week

Accelerate Your Progress

Three weekly sessions can offer further opportunities for progression, provided the exercises, recovery and your individual circumstances support it. More frequent training is not automatically better for everyone.

The best programme isn't the hardest one. It's the one you can stick to.

Not every exercise session needs to be a paid appointment. Your routine may combine time with Paula, walking and independent exercise, with sensible recovery between sessions.

What Happens During Your First Session?

Your first step is a £75 Initial Fitness Assessment, separate from an ongoing training session. Paula learns about your goals, current activity, exercise experience and what feels realistic for your life.

The assessment includes a health and lifestyle review, goal setting, movement assessment, personal recommendations and a written action plan. You'll discuss your concerns, preferences and how often you can exercise.

You leave with a clearer, personalised plan, with no obligation to purchase ongoing sessions afterwards.

You don't have to change your whole life to start feeling stronger. You just have to start.
